Behaviour Management Policy

Active Kids Holiday Camps promotes a positive, inclusive environment where children feel safe, respected and able to enjoy activities.

Expected Behaviour

Children are encouraged to:

  • Be kind and respectful to others
  • Follow staff instructions
  • Play safely
  • Include others in activities

Positive Behaviour Approach

Staff focus on encouragement and clear expectations. Positive behaviour is recognised and reinforced so children feel supported and confident.

Managing Behaviour

If behaviour becomes unsafe or disruptive, staff follow a clear step system:

  1. Reminder
  2. Warning
  3. Short supervised time out
  4. Manager involvement
  5. Parent communication if necessary

In rare situations where behaviour poses a risk to others, parents may be contacted to collect the child early.

Mobile Phone & Photography Policy

Active Kids Holiday Camps takes children’s privacy and safety seriously.

Staff Phone Use

  • Personal phones must remain out of sight during sessions
  • Phones may only be used during staff breaks or emergencies
  • Staff must never photograph children using personal devices

Camp Photography

Photos or videos may occasionally be taken during activities for camp updates or promotional purposes.

Images will only be used where parents have provided consent during registration.

Social Media

Images may be shared on official Active Kids Holiday Camps channels, but children’s names will never be published alongside photos.Active Kids Holiday Camps promotes a positive, inclusive environment where children feel safe, respected and able to enjoy activities.

Ofsted Registration

Active Kids Holiday Camps operates as an activity-based holiday provision and is exempt from Ofsted registration under the Childcare Act 2006.

Our camps provide structured recreational activities such as sports, games and creative sessions rather than childcare provision.

Although we are not required to register with Ofsted, we follow recognised safeguarding and welfare procedures. All staff hold enhanced DBS checks, camps are led by a designated safeguarding lead, and appropriate staff ratios and risk assessments are maintained.
